En liten "bombe" må man vel kunne si når en Rødhodevarsler dukker opp på Bjugn i Sør-Trøndelag. Jeg var ikke i tvil om å ta en rask tur til Nes like nord for Botngård på Fosen. Ved ankomst var jeg ikke kjent med lokaliteten så jeg spurte er gårds-kjerring om hun hadde sett noen "føggelkailla" med stativ og kamera. Joda...hun hadde peiling og fortalte meg både hvor jeg skulle parkere og hvor jeg skulle finne varsleren. Bilen ble parkert og mens jeg iførte meg kamo yttertøy og kamerautstyr ble jeg oppmerksom på en liten fugl som satt på en gjerdepåle ca 60m unna. Via håndkikkert fikk jeg bekreftet at det var Rødhodevarsleren. Den var litt annerledes enn den jeg hadde sett i Spania men form og tegninger stemte. Da var det bare å krype fram langs en hekk frem til bedre skuddhold med Canonen.
RØDHODEVARSLER (juvenil)
L 17-19 cm. Litt større en Tornskate. Hekker i åpent skogterreng (gjerne eik) med lysninger, vekslende med jordbruksland og spredte trær med forkjærlighet for fruktplantasjer. Tropetrekker (Afrika).
Vegetasjonen på Nes var en alminnelig typisk villahage med forskjellige busker i spett løv og grantrær. Beholdt sin post på en rundstokk over lengere tid. Ganske uredd.
